Walz, Johnson win governor primaries; to face off in fall

WILLMAR — Michelle Marotzke of Willmar is the third candidate to file to run for the Willmar School Board.

Jay Lawton and incumbent Mary Amon also filed this week.

Three seats are open. All seats are for four-year terms.

So far, Amon is the only incumbent to file to re-election. The current terms of Amon, Linda Mathiasen and Laura Warne all expire at the end of the year.

Filing for Willmar School Board and other boards and councils that don't have primaries closes at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Candidates wishing to file for School Board may go to the Willmar School District main office on the second floor of the Willmar Education and Arts Center, 611 Fifth St. S.W.

Candidates must be at least 21 and be a district resident for at least 30 days before the election. The filing fee is $2.
