Raymond man arrested after fleeing minor crash
WILLMAR — A Raymond man was arrested Monday night in Willmar after fleeing from an accident that injured his passenger.
The incident was reported just before midnight Monday in the area of Trott Avenue Southwest and 15th Street.
According to the Willmar Police Department, a 1999 Chevy Blazer, driven by Robert Griser, 35, of Raymond, crashed into an unoccupied 2008 Volvo that was parked on the street.
Griser fled the scene and was located a short time later about a block away.
A passenger in the vehicle, John Wilson, 39, of Raymond, was at the crash scene and suffered minor injuries, according to a news release from the Willmar Police Department.
Griser, who was not injured in the crash, was arrested on several charges including felony driving while impaired and criminal vehicular operation.
The Police Department was assisted by the Willmar Fire Department and Willmar Ambulance Service.
Woman killed in motorcycle crash near Watkins
WATKINS — A woman driving a motorcycle was killed Monday afternoon in a head-on crash with a pickup near Watkins.
The crash was reported at 12:51 p.m. Monday on state Highway 55 near 123rd Avenue.
According to the State Patrol, Sheri Sue Tilley, 56, of Lakeville, was driving a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Highway 55 when it collided with the left-front tire area of an eastbound 2017 Dodge Ram driven by Matthew Edward Diwi, 25, of Ramsey. The pickup was pulling a trailer at the time of the crash.
Tilley, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene.
Diwi was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
One injured in three-vehicle crash
CANBY — One person was injured Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle collision in Yellow Medicine County.
The crash was reported at 7:52 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 75 south of Canby.
According to the State Patrol, all three vehicles were going north on Highway 75.
A 2009 Chevy Suburban, driven by Krystle Marie Drietz, 33, of Canby, was stopped to make a left turn.
A 2014 Chevy Impala, driven by Michael Gary Crow, 34, of Woodbury, was stopped behind the Suburban when a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by Beth Ann Schroeder, 60, of Canby, rear-ended the Impala.
Crow — the driver of the Impala — was the only one injured. He was taken to Sanford Medical Center in Canby with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office, Canby Fire Department and Canby Police Department assisted at the scene of the accident.
Semi full of turkeys overturns
SPICER — A semi hauling turkeys overturned early Tuesday morning near Spicer, killing and injuring an undetermined number of turkeys. The driver of the semi, Rodolfo Zaragoza, 40, of Renville, was not injured.
The accident was reported at 1:49 a.m. Tuesday on state Highway 23 near Spicer.
According to the State Patrol, Zaragoza fell asleep and the semi went off the road and came to a stop in the median.
The driver got out of the truck before the semi overturned in the median.
He was cited for "duty to drive with due care," according to the State Patrol.
Crews were on the scene for about seven hours removing the turkeys and cleaning up the accident scene.
Stolen vehicle found in cornfield
WILLMAR — A Polaris Ranger that was reported stolen early Tuesday morning at a residence just east of Willmar was found in a cornfield about half-mile away.
The theft was reported at 8:09 a.m Tuesday at a home in the 4000 block of Eighth Avenue Northeast.
At 8:28 a.m. another individual called to report that a number of mailboxes had been hit along 45th Avenue Northeast in Kandiyohi and that a vehicle had gone into a cornfield.
NEW LONDON — An individual reported that her storage unit in the 300 block of Redwood Street Southwest had been broken into.
