Raymond man arrested after fleeing from Willmar crash

Willmar – A Raymond man was arrested Monday night in Willmar after fleeing from an accident that injured his passenger.

The incident was reported just before midnight in the area of Trott Avenue Southwest and 15th Street.

According to the Willmar Police Department, a 1999 Chevy Blazer, driven by Robert Griser, 35, of Raymond, crashed into an unoccupied 2008 Volvo that was parked on the street.

Griser fled the scene and was located a short time later about a block away.

A passenger in the vehicle, John Wilson, 39, of Raymond, was at the crash scene and sustained minor injuries, according to a press release from the Willmar Police Department.

Griser, who was not injured in the crash, was arrested on several charges including felony DWI and criminal vehicular operation.

The police department was assisted by the Willmar Fire Department and Willmar Ambulance Service.
