WILLMAR — The blue and white of the flag of Somalia seemed to be the color of choice for many celebrating the country's 58th birthday Sunday afternoon in downtown Willmar.

Somali Independence Day celebrates the unification of the Trust Territory of Somaliland and the State of Somaliland into the Somali Republic on July 1, 1960.

Sunday's festivities in Willmar included music, dancing, exhibits, food and more.
